The patient is administered general anesthesia or epidural anesthesia as needed before the surgery can begin. The surgery will last anywhere between 2-3 hours. We will make small incisions along the intergluteal region for the surgery, measuring around 5 cm to 7 cm as needed. Next, the gluteus muscles are separated into two sections, and the silicone implants are inserted where needed.

Once the implants are successfully placed, the incisions are closed up. The resulting scar from this surgery should lie along the gluteal fold, the crease formed above the buttocks, leaving the scars generally imperceptible.

Post-Operative Care and Recovery

• For the first 72 hours, you should avoid sitting or sleeping on your buttocks.
• For the first 15 days, take special care when sitting down, and place a pillow under your thighs to alleviate pressure from your buttocks.
• Avoid strenuous exercise or weight lifting for at least two weeks.
• Follow the instructions provided by Dr. Londono.
• Must use the post-surgical compression garment for at least 1-2 months.
• Avoid injections to the gluteal area in the future so as not to damage your implants.
